Flip-Flopping Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler Harassed By Screeching Antifa Mob

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has apparently learned the hard way over this last year that you can’t ever acquiesce to or appease terrorists like the far-left progressive Antifa types that have been plaguing his city for years now.

Of course, since he’s already tried to bend over backward to these terrorists for years now, he’s really damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t.

Over the summer, as you may recall, Wheeler was out on the streets with the protesters amid widespread BLM/Antifa demonstrations-turned-riots, but the honeymoon phase of that relationship didn’t last long.

At the time, The Blaze recalls, Wheeler’s “listening session” with the thugs involved some hurling objects at him while others called for his resignation and chanted “Tear Gas Teddy” since these people honestly believe it’s wrong for law enforcement to attempt to disperse an unruly crowd, because “justice,” or something.

Wheeler was also profusely derided as a “fascist,” naturally.

This week, Wheeler was trying to have dinner with a companion on Wednesday evening at Café Nell’s outdoor dining area when he experienced a replay of the past summer.

The little black-clad tykes were probably just all hyped up that their comrades clad in MAGA-gear managed to incite a small riot and undermine an otherwise entirely lawful protest in D.C. that same day, who knows.

Wheeler’s spokesman Jim Middaugh told the Oregonian in a statement that the violent activists moved from yelling at the mayor from outside the COVID safety tent and subsequently “pushed their way past restaurant employees” and confronted Mayor Ted face-to-face.

After he asked the group to leave, “one member of the group started swatting at the mayor and made physical contact with him,” Middaugh also said.

The reported contact was not captured on video footage posted to Twitter, though Wheeler can be heard claiming someone assaulted him. He wasn’t hurt.

At one point in a different video clip, Wheeler repeatedly asks a person behind the camera how old they are — and tells them to grow up.

“You are going to be made to feel like the scum you are,” the person later yelled at Wheeler.

Restaurant staff eventually persuaded the group to leave, Middaugh said.

Did anyone call 9-1-1? Maybe Wheeler should reconsider his opposition to citizens carrying concealed firearms for their protection when confronted by this dangerous mob.

“Tevis” is apparently Wheeler’s middle name.

Unsurprisingly, no one has been arrested, but authorities are investigating the incident.

Of course, as we’ve covered previously, Portland’s Police Bureau is already strained as it is as officers are leaving in droves to move to other departments where one can only imagine they are more appreciated.

“Given the tenor of political discourse nationally and locally, it’s not unusual for people to confront the mayor and other elected officials in public. It’s part of the job,” Middaugh also told the Oregonian. “The mayor will continue to support local restaurants and businesses as often as he can. He urges others to do the same.”

Is Middaugh serious? And have to face these same lunatic marauders? They pop up everywhere. He should have added, “And make sure not to wear anything identifying you as a Trump supporter.”
