GSA Chief Says Trump Put Her Under No Pressure, But Leftists Threatened Her Staff, Family, and Pets

Written with contribution from Sheriff David Clarke

Government Services Administration Administrator Emily Murphy issued a letter to President-elect Joe Biden this week explaining that the agency would be moving forward with the formal transition process after she had delayed doing so due to ongoing legal disputes and recounts following projections of Biden’s victory from virtually every major media outlet across the nation.

Murphy, who has naturally faced harsh criticism for her actions in this regard, explained that she was subject to no pressure from President Donald Trump on how to handle the transition as the results of the election were still being contested.

She did, however, field what were apparently quite unhinged threats from those upset with her decision to postpone the formal transition process aimed at her staffers, family, and even her pets.

“To be clear, I did not receive any direction to delay my determination,” she explained in her letter to Biden Monday, The Washington Examiner reports. “I did, however, receive threats online, by phone, and by mail directed at my safety, my family, my staff, and even my pets in an effort to coerce me into making this determination prematurely.”

“Even in the face of thousands of threats, I always remained committed to upholding the law,” she added.

Murphy explained that her decision to begin the transition was “based on the law and independent facts.”

“I was never directly or indirectly pressured by any Executive Branch official — including those who work at the White House or GSA — with regard to the substance or timing of the decision,” she stated. She has been the GSA Administrator since December 2017 and was confirmed by Unanimous consent in the Senate, it is worth noting.

After Murphy’s letter was published to the press, Trump tweeted out his thanks to Murphy for her service, pledging to continue his campaign’s legal fight, which he believes will be successful.

“I want to thank Emily Murphy at GSA for her steadfast dedication and loyalty to our Country. She has been harassed, threatened, and abused — and I do not want to see this happen to her, her family, or employees of GSA,” Trump said in a Monday evening tweet. “Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good fight, and I believe we will prevail!

On Tuesday, he reiterated his support of Murphy and her job performance, reminding followers that the GSA does not decide elections.

“Remember, the GSA has been terrific, and Emily Murphy has done a great job, but the GSA does not determine who the next President of the United States will be,” he wrote.

Just let that sink in for a moment. Biden isn’t even in office and his supporters are already threatening violence against those who they perceive as standing in the way.

Meanwhile, Trump is cordially thanking Murphy, who is proceeding with the transition, and vowing to fight the election in the court of law.

Is that not the Trump era summed up in a nutshell?

The problem with that is that most of our functioning institutions including courts due to activist judges are broken. Don’t expect much relief there.
