There are two very important truths that we need to establish.
One: the United States has every right to enforce its sovereign borders and it is not racist, bigoted, heartless, or cruel to do this.
Two: should you violate the laws that keep our nation’s borders sovereign, you are not subsequently cloaked in a protective shield of criminal immunity.
I feel dumber for having to state that, but such is the world today.
A Honduran man who was accused of sexually assaulting a child in Denver and then released against the wishes of federal officers was arrested by ICE on September 4th, because apparently Denver law enforcement didn’t see fit to get a man accused of one of the most heinous crimes imaginable the heck out of the country ASAP.
CBS4 Denver reports:
Celin Villeda-Orellana, 33, was in the country illegally, according to an ICE spokesperson. And not for the first time.
…
Villeda-Orellana first entered the U.S. illegally in April 2007 through the Arizona border town of Nogales, ICE stated in a press release. He was arrested the same month in Chicago and deported back to Honduras. He re-entered the U.S. illegally again in November 2018 and was arrested in Rio Grande, Arizona. But days later, while awaiting deportation in San Antonio, Texas, he was released. The reason?
He was deemed part of a family unit. Specifically, he had a child with him.
ICE now believes it was a fraudulent relationship. The agency has encountered 760 children since May 2019 who entered the U.S. as part of a family unit and then return Central America shortly after.
Villeda-Orellana was arrested in February 2020 and charged with six felony counts relating to child assault on a child. It is not clear if the child victim was the same as the child he had with him in San Antonio.
It has been well-documented that illegal aliens use children with whom they share no relation to cross into the United States, as border patrol usually releases anyone who is accompanied by a minor into the general population. Sometimes, sickeningly, these children are reportedly “recycled.”
This scumbag is also hardly the first illegal immigrant to be accused of child sexual assault. It doesn’t take a lot of imagination to believe there’s overlap between children who are exploited for the sake of border-crossing and children who are just plain exploited.
According to online records, Villeda-Orellana posted a $5,000 bond two weeks after his arrest, regardless of the fact that ICE had asked for him to be detained for their purposes two days earlier CBS notes. Who paid the bail should be investigated.
“The document requested the DJC (Denver Justice Center) hold Villeda-Orellana briefly until ICE officers could pick him up prior to any planned release,” ICE said in its press release. “DJC declined the detainer Feb. 21 and Villeda was released back into the community to re-offend.”
“How is it justice to the victims to release these types of criminals to the streets?” ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations’ Denver field office director, John Fabbricatore, said.
“It is unconscionable to allow people like Villeda to be released and not honor our detainer while he potentially re-enters the community to harm another child.”
Sanctuary cities like Denver are a safe harbor for predators like Villeda. We are all at risk.
