Democrats have proven time and time again that when it comes to hypocrisy, they really do own the corner market. Nowhere is this seen more clearly than in their criticism of former President Donald Trump for allegedly putting kids in cages at the southern border, despite the fact these facilities were started by Democratic President Barack Obama.
As it turns out, it’s totally okay for kids to be stuck in cages, so long as it’s the Democrats who are the ones doing it. The leftist media refuses to hold President Joe Biden accountable for reopening these facilities, though they were all about trashing Trump for leaving them open during his administration.
According to Summit News, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was grilled by Peter Doocy on Tuesday who asked her why the Biden administration was reopening one of the same facilities that the Democrats previously referred to as a “human rights abuse.”
Psaki responded by saying, “This is not kids being kept in cages,” and then went on to claim “this is a facility that was reopened that is going to follow the same standards as other [Department of Health and Human Services] facilities.”

Psaki went on to say, “That’s never our intention – of replicating immigration policies of the past administration. But we are in a circumstance where we are not going to expel unaccompanied minors at the border.”
The press secretary then argued that since “there is a pandemic going on,” the holding facilities have to be used instead of the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
To put that statement another way, it’s okay to put kids in cages as long as you’re a Democrat.

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has also commented on the issue, however, the criticism she’s offered the Biden administration has been fairly tame, especially when you look at the fact she called this facility a concentration camp when Trump was president.

It’s once again important to note these “cages” were first instituted at the border by former Democratic President Barack Obama, not the Trump administration.
