Poll Reveals Oregon Residents May Be Completely Fed Up With “Peaceful” Protests

Are Oregonians finally waking up to the grim reality of what happens when you apply “woke” policies to law enforcement?

A recent survey has revealed that a majority of Oregon voters no longer approve of the “peaceful” protests, as the left is laughably referring to the violent riots that have been ravaging Portland for over three months.

Red State reports that DHM Research survey found that 56% of respondents believe that their state is headed in the wrong direction, with only 31% believing the opposite.

A majority of voters reject the narrative that Portland’s “protests” have been “mostly peaceful,” and that a plurality would like the police to use more force to quell the ongoing violence.

What’s more, 56 percent believe that, rather than “peaceful,” the protests have rather been “mostly violent,” and a mere 29 percent believe that the police have used excessive force.

The survey also found, according to Red State:

  • 66 percent of voters disapprove of the nightly unrest, while just 31 percent favor the ongoing civil disobedience
  • 42 percent of voters want the police to use more force against the rioters, while 29 percent believe police use too much force
  • 55 percent of voters believe “riot” is a more accurate description of the unrest, with 37 percent believing “protest” is more accurate
  • Republicans, voters above 45 years of age, rural residents, and those who obtained a high school degree or less chose “riot”
  • Democrats, young voters under 30-years-old, and college graduates opted to call the unrest “protests”
  • Voters of color are split in their evaluation of the unrest, with 49 percent approving and 46 percent disapproving”.
