They want your books burned and for citizens to live in fear of their violence and agitation.
Powell’s Books, the legendary Portland, Oregon book store who boasts status as the world’s largest independent new and used book seller, is now refusing to feature an expose on Antifa on their shelves.
The book in question was penned by independent journalist Andy Ngo, a self-described centrist and the gay son of immigrants who has been tirelessly working to research and report on Antifa activities for years.
He himself was famously assaulted by irate Antifa members apparently more intent on proving his allegations about their violent nature correct than they were about him having mischaracterized the group and its ideologies.
KOIN reported (via Associated Press) that “despite Powell’s decision to keep the anti-antifa book off its shelves, a small crowd of protesters gathered outside the store’s flagship location downtown on Monday, plastering the windows with signs and prompting the store to close early as a safety precaution.”
Don’t worry, it was only small enough to prompt them to shut the store down early.
Seriously?
The book seller said in a statement on its Twitter page that while much of their inventory is hand-picked, that “Unmasked” had somehow accidentally made it into the store.
So they wouldn’t even have been brave enough to “hand-pick” an expose into a literal terror group had they been given the option.
Pathetic!
“This book will not be placed on our shelves. We will not promote it. That said, it will remain in our online catalog,” the statement pleadingly stated. “We carry a lot of books we find abhorrent, as well as those that we treasure.”
Abhorrent? Really?
Ngo’s book, “Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy” is set to be released next month.
