There are some very wealthy and powerful people the world over who would love nothing more than to subjugate and overpower the American people. The Framers of the Constitution knew that.
They stick their fingers in the highest echelons of public and private life in our nation, influencing propaganda, pop culture, and political talking points to influence citizens to advocate for destroying their own rights of free speech, free assembly, and the right to bear arms.
They’re forced to resort to these subversive tactics because this is a nation that would be very difficult for the government to overpower with brute force.
The reason, of course, is that the framers made sure to carefully protect the right of every citizen to defend his life, his home, his community, and even his country from any threat, tyrannical or otherwise.
For how long have leftists been trying to undo the people-empowering protections of the Second Amendment?
The reason they have yet to be fully successful is the reason the 2A exists in the first place.
In a constitutional republic like ours, the power is not held by an elite group of rulers or even those we democratically vote into power.
It is held by the people, and the moment the people lose the right to enforce this power is the moment our nation will crumble.
There are millions of Americans who understand the importance of defending our nation’s framework, both philosophically and otherwise.
And a heck of a lot of Americans that own firearms.
This is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of complete submission.
On Monday, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reported that there are roughly 434 million privately owned firearms in the United States of American, according to Breitbart News.
The NSSF Firearm Production Figures show that in 2019, roughly six million firearms were manufactured in the U.S., including 3.6 million pistols and revolvers, two million rifles, and 480,000 shotguns.
3.3 million firearms, meanwhile, were imported into the country in 2019, including “2.3 million pistols and revolvers, 301,000 rifles and 678,000 shotguns.”
There is “an estimated 19.8 million Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs)” in circulation since 1990 alone, which includes AR-15s, AK-47s, variations of each of these rifles, and other popular semiautomatic rifles.
The NSSF also notes that notes Americans currently possess “approximately 71.2 million pistol magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds” and “79.2 million rifle magazines capable of holding 30 or more rounds.”
All this forms what I’d call a very empowered citizenry capable of stopping government tyranny if they have to.
