Twitter recently spoke with Newsweek and stated that referring to mass shooter Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa as a “white Christian terrorist” was not a violation of its misinformation policies, despite the fact the 21-year-old murderer is from Syria and has been identified as a Muslim.
According to TheBlaze, authorities have charged Alissa with 10 counts of first-degree murder for the shooting on Monday that happened at a King Sooper’s grocery store located in Boulder, Colorado.
Prior to the suspect’s identity being revealed to the general public, numerous individuals on Twitter assumed the suspect was going to be a Trump supporting white supremacist and the incident was being considered yet another example of racial injustice in the United States.
But soon after this it was revealed that Alissa and his family had come to this country from Syria and his own brother stated that in the past his sibling had been bullied due to being Muslim.
Some of the users who pushed the “white supremacy” narrative deleted their tweets. Others went on to defend the tweets saying they were based on Alissa’s skin color instead of his ethnicity.
In the past, Twitter has been accused of having a severe left-wing bias and anti-Christian bent when it comes to the application of its policies. For example, back in January, Twitter locked the account of The Catholic Review for tweeting out an article that described assistant Health and Human Services Secretary Rachel Levine as a “biological man identifying as a transgender woman.”
And yet, flat out lying and calling a man a “white Christian terrorist” even though he isn’t one, is perfectly acceptable.
“The Tweets referenced are not in violation of the Twitter Rules,” the spokesperson stated, according to Newsweek. “We will not take action on every instance of misinformation. Currently, our misinformation rules cover COVID-19 misinformation, synthetic and manipulated media, and civic integrity.”
These are a few of the tweets that Newsweek sent out when inquiring about the misinformation policies of the company:

Once again, the standards liberals claim to hold to only apply to conservatives and not to them themselves. Big shock.
White Christians are the new persecuted group in America. It’s hateful.
