Aside from being a political wedge issue, there is no reason to be debating abortion anymore. It is murder, plain and simple. Of course, we also have leftist activists suggesting the death penalty is cruel and we even have Soros-backed D.A.s releasing murderers back onto the streets. Moral clarity and rectitude is not a feature of the left.
And though we expect brainwashed sheeple to go along with the narrative, it’s another matter altogether when the Catholic Church assumes the same position as a blue-haired, overweight, and non-binary communist. Heck, even far-left radical Pope Francis has at least stood his ground on the issue of child murder.
Thankfully, too, there are some Catholic dioceses fighting back; recently, a few in Nancy Pelosi’s area announced their refusal to offer her communion. We need more of this backbone.
Unlike the staunch believers that denounce Pelosi’s abuorrent position, the same cannot be said of every high-ranking Catholic or Vatican official. During an interview with Italian state television, one such figure, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia not only defended an Italian abortion law, he straight up praised it and went so far as to say abortion is a pillar of societal life.
Paglia’s background would seemingly make all of this a moot issue. He is currently the President of the Pontifical Academy for Life and Grand Chancellor of the John Paul II Pontifical Theological Institute for Marriage and Family Sciences. He formerly served as President of the Pontifical Council for the Family. Therefore, given his supposed faith, the Roman Catholic Church’s stance on the issue, and his past positions, you would expect and hope that he would be pro-life.
Tragically, not so. In his own words:
“I believe that at this point the Law 194 is a pillar of our social life. In my opinion, and I have written as much, I would like to see more emphasis on the part that is hardly spoken of, namely the right to motherhood, to see our country grow, in the face of the drama of a generational imbalance that is quite dramatic.
“I would exhort to look with trust upon a country that wishes to live in liberty, in development and progress, and I think that the crisis in natality is a problem on which we have unfortunately not reflected and it is already late.”
Power corrupts, and a life spent in luxury at the expense of tithing Catholics has induced a moral retardation to an unfathomably corrupt degree. And again, it’s all the more insane considering that the far-left Vatican, no matter its stance on other social, cultural, or political issues, has generally held firm on the singular matter of infanticide.
According to Catholic doctrine, “Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life” and “Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life.“
Did Paglia not read that page of the catechism?
And while we said that Pope Francis has adamentally voiced his position on protecting the sanctity of human life, his actions nonetheless belie those stated beliefs. Just last year, the Holy See met with Nancy Pelosi despite her known position on defending child murder.
Amazingly, this was also just after she endorsed HR 3755. That bill would accomplish the following, according to LiveAction.org:
“Eliminate virtually all protections of preborn children, including those that protect preborn babies at late stages of pregnancy. Even when the child has reached viability — the point at which a child is able to live independently outside the womb — HR 3755 would still allow for that fully developed child to be killed in abortion.
Additionally, pro-life Members noted that, under the deceptive name of “Women’s Health,” the bill would override many state protections aimed at protecting children once they are able to survive outside the womb. Because the bill would legalize abortion for virtually any reason, states would also not be able to protect children from sex-selective abortion or protect babies targeted for abortion following the diagnosis of a condition such as Down syndrome.”
This is pure insanity.
